YOU MUST HAVE A PHYSICAL BEFORE BEING ABLE TO PRACTICE WITH THE TEAM.  TO BE VALID THE PHYSICAL MUST BE DATED AFTER APRIL 15TH, 2020.  If you have a physical on file from last school year you are all set.  Link to the physical form:

Can 6th graders run?  – YES!  We encourage 6th graders to come out and run with us!  

 

MANDATORY PRACTICE BEGINS ON Tuesday, August 25th - AFTER SCHOOL -  STARTS @ 2:45PM. Practice will happen Monday - Friday.  Most meets are on Wednesdays @ 4PM. We will meet in the commons outside the main office.  Practice will go from 2:45 to 4:15 pm. APPROPRIATE CONDUCT IS REQUIRED WHILE YOU ARE IN THE COMMONS WAITING FOR COACH TO ARRIVE.  ACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR - SITTING QUIETLY AT THE TABLES WORKING ON HOMEWORK OR SITTING QUIETLY AND TALKING WITH FRIENDS.  NO MESS CAN BE LEFT BEHIND.


COACH INFO:  My name is Dave McCall.  Please call me Coach or Coach McCall.  This is my fourth year coaching cross country.  I coached swimming for about 18 years.  I was an assistant coach for the Howell Sea Serpents working mainly with late elementary to middle school aged swimmers.

I have been a runner and swimmer since middle school.  I love running and all that it brings to its participants.  I ran Cross Country in high school and I credit that with giving me a lifelong passion for running.  I look forward to being able to share that love of running with the runners at Parker Middle School.

I have been a teacher in Howell schools for 20 years.  I teach Anatomy & Physiology and Forensic Science at the 10-12 building.  The best way to contact me during the day is by using my school email:

EQUIPMENT:

Runners should have at least two pairs of running shorts, at least one pair of running shoes (these can be either road or trail running shoes), in addition runners can purchase cross country spikes for meets if desired(we will discuss what length spike to get with these shoes), at least two short sleeve running shirts (performance wicking materials are best), at least one long sleeve shirt/sweatshirt, at least one pair of running pants/tights, A DIGITAL WATCH WITH A STOPWATCH FUNCTION (GPS watches are a great training option).  A nylon windbreaker is helpful as well.
