Advanced Placement (AP) Courses

Each AP class is a college-level course taught at Howell High School culminating in the opportunity to take an Advanced Placement examination in May. Students may receive college credits for these courses based upon their AP test score(s). Students are strongly encouraged to take the AP exam in May. There is a fee for these exams, but students may seek financial assistance through their counselor. AP course titles may be found in the Course Selection Book. Listed above each AP class are the prerequisites.

Additional Education Options for our Parents

The following options are offered through groups supported directly or indirectly by the Michigan Department of Education. Families should understand that although HPS relays this information, we do not endorse any specific organization, conference or program.

AP Exam Registration forms are due in the Counseling Office by THURSDAY, October 31, 2019. Questions can be directed to Counselor/AP Coordinator Valerie Hays ([email protected]).


All AP Exams will be proctored at Lansing Community College (LCC) Livingston Center/Parker Middle School. Use the D-19 entrance to Parker MS, and enter through the LCC entrance. Additional details will be shared with students in April 2020.

Morning exams - students arrive by 7:30am
Afternoon exams - students arrive by 11:30am

Students will be excused from HHS classes the entire day of their exam.
