STATE TESTING - WHAT PARENTS NEED TO KNOW:
Michigan schools are required to administer annual state assessments to students. The assessments have gone through significant changes in recent years, transitioning from the MEAP to the MME (Michigan Merit Exam). The MME is administered to all 11th grade students and has three required components:
-
College Readiness Exam (SAT)
-
Job skills assessment (WorkKeys)
-
Michigan Student Test of Educational Progress (M-STEP)
It is important for parents to understand the components of these exams, their purpose and how to help prepare your student for the exams. Please review the following information about each assessment.
