Major General David Bassett speaks with JROTC Cadets12/28/16 – Recently, Major General David Bassett, United States Army program executive officer for ground combat systems visited Howell High School. During his visit, Bassett spoke with students in the school’s Air Force Junior ROTC program and with students involved in the schools Parent Teacher Mentor Organization (PTMO). Bassett’s visit was arranged by the PTMO.

During his visit with students in the JROTC program, Bassett shared details about his 29-year career with the Army and how he was a ROTC cadet in college. Bassett also spoke about leadership and the importance of setting goals with the cadets. During his visit with students in the PTMO program, Bassett spoke about leadership, goal setting, career paths and being true to one's self.

The Howell High School PTMO supports the students of Howell High School is many ways. The organization provides funding for student activities, field trips, clubs, assemblies and classroom supplies. Additionally, PTMO volunteers meet with students who may benefit from a positive and supportive adult influence.
