Testing Out Guidelines and Procedures for August 2022

According to the Michigan Merit Curriculum Law, Section 380.1278(a)(4)(c), "a school district or public school academy shall also grant a student credit if the student earns a qualifying score, as determined by the department, on the assessments developed or selected for the subject area by the department or the student earns a qualifying score, as determined by the school district or public school academy, on 1 or more assessments developed or selected by the school district or public school academy that measure a student's understanding of the subject area content expectations or guidelines that apply to the credit."

Students are required to earn a grade of 77% or higher on the test-out exam in order to earn credit for the course.  Students who already have credit in a class cannot test out of it. Failure to earn a 77% or better will not be reflected on the transcript. Students are expected to take both the midterm and final exams in order to receive credit (1.0) for a full year course and should plan on testing during two test sessions or staying longer than the scheduled time. Students taking the midterm and final exams may take a break between tests.  Students are welcome to bring QUIET snacks to eat while testing
