Senior Survivor Logo4/23/17 - On Sunday, April 23, Howell High School’s popular Senior Survivor fundraiser returns for the tenth year of competition and fundraising. On Sunday, 14 seniors will move into the school with the hope of remaining there for the week. Each day the Senior Survivors will fundraise during the day and compete in reward and immunity challenges at night. At the each of the school day the two Senior Survivors who raised the least amount of money that day will be eliminated from the competition and sent home. The student who raises the most money during the week will be named the winner of Senior Survivor. This year, the students have set a goal of collecting $60,000 for the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention Southeast Michigan Chapter. 

This year’s Howell High School Senior Survivors are Cara Betz (Team Betz), Becca Bishop (Team Chewbecca), Garrett Breault (Team G-Money), Kelsey Cook (Team K-Cook), Chelsea Farley (Team Chelsea),  James Griffin (Team Old Man Griff), Madi Lim (Team Maki), Jacob Lothamer (Team Loth), Robert Lys (Team Lysterine), Carleigh O'Doherty (Team O’Doherty), Aiden Pressel (Team First-Aid), Logan Russo (Team Log), Alyssa Snider (Team Snider) and Parker Woodin (Team P-Woody). Over the past nine years, the students of Howell High School have raised an amazing $184,558 for various charities. In 2008, students raised $5,000 for the Mackenzie Watts Scholarship Fund. In 2009, they raised $8,535 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. In 2010, $7,488 was raised for the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. In 2011, students collected $5,759 for The Connection Youth Services. In 2012, $13,375 was raised for ARC of Livingston. In 2013, $20,229 was split between the Zac Cain Foundation and the National Alliance on Mental Illness. In 2014 students collected $27,000 was raised for The Rainbow Connection. In 2015 $41, 215 was raised for the Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan and in 2016 $56,000 was raised for Stiggy’s Dogs.
